Five Star Friday's Edition #78

Poor Faulkner. Does he really think big emotions come from big words? He thinks I don't know the ten-dollar words. I know them all right. But there are older and simpler and better words, and those are the ones I use.

   — Ernest Hemingway

Today's roundup of good weblog entries is brought to you by growing up, a small kitchen, awol marriage counsellors, therapy, divorce, gravity, dogs, pediatric blood pressure, Canadian heavy metal music, a joke gone wrong, good Samaritan-ism, faking it for personal gain, learning to read, nostalgia for an old house, the continuing evils of Wal-Mart, the children of gay marriage, worrying, intolerance in Maine, and Judy Chicago.

I am going to go beat my head against the walls that are NaNoWriMo and NaBloPoMo.

Happy Friday!

Jane Devin's Finding My America piece is so Five Star it's Six Star.

LOVE that Hemingway quote. "Poor Faulkner" is my new go-to term of endearment.
